  • Iris joined the health center team in 2001. She is currently enrolled at BMCC and will complete her associate's degree in nursing next year. Iris spends most of her day teaching patients how to manage their diabetes by setting small goals. She especially appreciates the long-term relationships she has developed with patients over the years.

  • Monica has been working as a medical assistant for 5 and a half years. As a health coach, she takes pride in teaching patients how to better manage their high blood pressure. She has also taken what she knows home and helps her family members make healthier choices.


Kathy Morales, MA

  • Kathy has been working as a medical assistant for 4 years. As part of her work as a health coach, Kathy troubleshoots patient issues. She pays special attention to making sure patients get the medical equipment they need and enjoys teaching them how to use it properly. She gets a lot of satisfaction seeing patients with chronic illness learn how to better manage their disease.

  • Ana has been a medical assistant for almost 4 years. A big part of Ana's day is teaching patients self-management techniques and helping patients set and accomplish small goals. She especially enjoys teaching patients with diabetes about their disease and how they can manage their blood sugar levels.

  • Palmira began her career as a medical assistant 6 years ago. Using her health coach training and experiences with patients, Palmira has been successful in forming partnerships with patients to take control and improve their chronic conditions. Palmira works in the specialty area and provides support for patients who started their work in the primary care area.
